About Chanioti

Hanioti can be included in the top five of the busiest resorts of the peninsula of Halkidiki. Starting in May, tourists come here from many countries. But just in the XIX century, Hanioti was a tiny village where, according to historical sources, "20 families of farmers and beekeepers live, there is a church and a fountain". In the 1960s, a tourist boom happened in Hanioti. During this period, many guesthouses and mini-hotels appeared here. Today, there are a lot more places for accommodation in Hanioti: several 5* hotels, dozens of hotels of up to 4* level and apartments. Hanioti has a wide range of taverns, shops, supermarkets and it has an easy access to the beach. All this has made the resort a popular place for family vacations.

Beach

Hanioti beach is represented by a few kilometres of sand mixed with small pebbles. The coast of the resort is clean, and the best way to confirm this, is the Blue flag award that the beach received. The sea in Hanioti is almost always calm, there are no big rocks on the bottom. The entrance to the water is mostly flat — it attracts vacationers with children. As elsewhere in Greece, Hanioti beach is free. You will only have to pay for an umbrella and a sun lounger. Despite its long expanse, Hanioti beach is quite narrow. It is not suitable for a secluded rest but it will appeal to those who like to be in the midst of the resort life.

Infrastructure and entertainment

The convenience of Hanioti beach is that all the infrastructure is located next to it. The hotels line up along the coast; there are mini markets, souvenir shops, taverns and a park nearby. The beach is equipped for the convenience of people with special needs. There are changing stalls, toilets and showers.
There are beach bars on the coast of Hanioti where the residents of Thessaloniki come to relax on weekends. They are located at the end of the village, on the way to Pefkohori:
The former Molos beach bar (now it is unnamed) is a favorite destination for young people.
Achinos is a high-level bar with its own restaurant “7 Seas” and pleasant music. Prices are above average, because you will have to pay for both a drink and a sunbed. However, the level of service is high and the sun loungers are like real beds with thick mattresses;
White Bar — the most remote from the center, but the sea even is better in this place than near the Achinos beach bar. The White Bar has a very profitable system of "sunbed for a drink".
Hanioti is located 105 km from the centre of Thessaloniki and 90 km from Macedonia airport. It will take you a little more than an hour to get there by rented car and about 1-1.5 hours .

Tips

- Hanioti beach is usually crowded. Even when September comes, there are as many vacationers here as in summer. For those who do not like the hustle, it is better to come to the beach in the morning and take a comfortable sun lounger.
- When you are in Hanioti, you should definitely visit the fish taverns of this resort. They are famous for excellent seafood dishes.
